Established by Dr. Kerry Bowman in 2000, the Great Ape Fund was created to support various conservation-related programs in Africa. Current Forest Health Alliance initiatives include the Kahuzi Beiga Environmental School, the Tshivanga Station cassava mill, and an ongoing GIS assessment that is helping to map one of the remotest and most unspoiled regions of the Congo.

Donate Frequent Flyer Miles

It is extremely expensive to fly to the Congo, but it is also vitally important that we visit our programs at least once a year. Our representatives travel at their own expense and so are limited in the number of times they are able to go. If your frequent flyer miles are transferable, consider donating them to a Forest Health Alliance representative for travel to the eastern Congo.
